Cigar Rings & Bands

The finishing touch that turns a cigar into a brand. World class printing. Legendary partners

Trusted by the Industry

International Premier Cigar Consulting Group

Your Band Is Your Brand

A cigar ring is the first thing a customer sees — before the wrapper, before the aroma, before the first draw. It communicates your price point, your identity, and your standard before anyone lights the cigar. A beautifully crafted band signals premium quality. A generic or poorly executed one undermines everything behind it, no matter how exceptional the tobacco.

Cigar Prof works with some of the most respected printing houses and packaging producers in the global cigar industry to deliver bands, labels, boxes, and complete packaging that meet the highest standards in the business. Whether you're launching a new private label, refreshing an existing brand, or producing a limited-edition run for a special occasion, we manage the entire process — from concept through design, production, and delivery to your factory or facility.

Our Printing & Packaging Partners

Cigar Prof's approach to cigar rings and packaging is built on direct partnerships with proven industry specialists — not generic print shops. We work with multiple dedicated producers across the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Europe who between them serve many of the world's most recognized cigar brands. Our clients benefit from these relationships without needing to build them on their own.

Caribbean Production — Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico & Nicaragua

Our primary band and packaging partners operate directly in the heart of cigar manufacturing country. One partner, a member of a European graphic arts group, has operated in the Dominican Republic since 2005 and in Nicaragua since 2013, with more than 50 years of experience in the graphic arts industry. Their team received extensive training in Europe, allowing them to deliver the same advanced printing and embellishment techniques that major manufacturers rely on — now produced on-site in Santiago's Zona Franca Industrial and in Estelí, Nicaragua.

This partner specializes in custom cigar bands, labels, and folding cardboard boxes built specifically for the premium cigar and tobacco market. Their facilities feature modern machinery and equipment, security cameras across every production process to prevent forgeries, and a 24-hour quote response guarantee. They serve many of the most recognized names in the industry.

We also work with a Santiago-based packaging specialist located in the Free Zone Industrial Park, producing high-quality lined cigar boxes in all standard counts — 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 cigars — as well as custom labels and specialty packaging. This partner is a trusted supplier to well-known cigar manufacturers in the Dominican Republic and provides the kind of hands-on, flexible box production that is essential for private label and boutique brands. Their proximity to our manufacturing partner DAVTIAN Premium Cigars and other Santiago-based factories means faster turnaround, lower shipping costs, and tighter coordination between box production and cigar manufacturing.

European Production — The Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Armenia

For brands that demand the absolute pinnacle of cigar band printing, we partner with one of the most storied printing houses in the world — a family-owned company based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, founded in 1905. For over a century, this firm has been the industry's leading specialist in premium cigar bands. Their client roster includes many of the most famous cigar brands on earth.

With 115+ employees and a state-of-the-art facility, they specialize in classic offset printing executed on modern equipment — a deliberate choice because digital printing cannot achieve the level of detail, bronzing quality, and embossing precision that the premium cigar market demands. Their capabilities include dust-bronzing, hot foil stamping, sculpture embossing, lacquering, hologram printing, resin-domed labels, and anti-counterfeit features. They were the first company in the industry to produce holographic cigar bands.

This partner also operates an in-house design service that helps clients create brand identities from scratch or modernize existing artwork. Their internal ink laboratory and proprietary training program — knowledge that isn't taught at any outside institution — ensure that every band meets the exceptional standard that has defined their reputation for over a century. Their minimum order quantity is 50,000 pieces, making them ideal for established brands with larger production volumes.

What We Offer

Cigar Prof acts as your single point of contact for the entire cigar ring and packaging process. You don't need to manage print houses, coordinate international logistics, or figure out which techniques are right for your brand. We handle all of it.

Custom Band Design — We work with you to translate your brand identity into a cigar band that communicates quality, personality, and distinction. Whether you want a traditional look with gold bronzing and embossing or a modern, minimalist design, we develop artwork that reflects your vision and meets production specifications.

Printing Technique Selection — Not every band needs every technique. We advise on which combination of printing methods — offset, bronzing, hot foil, embossing, lacquering, hologram — will achieve the look you want at the right price point. A startup brand and a luxury limited-edition require different approaches, and we calibrate accordingly.

Box & Label Production — Beyond the band, your cigar box is a critical brand asset. We coordinate the production of lined boxes in all standard configurations (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 count), custom labels, and specialty packaging. Our Santiago-based box production partner allows us to manage box manufacturing alongside cigar production in the same region, eliminating delays and coordination headaches.

Production Coordination — We manage the relationship with the printing and packaging partners, handle artwork approvals and mock-up reviews, oversee production timelines, and coordinate delivery to your factory in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, or wherever your cigars are being manufactured.

Packaging Beyond the Band — Cigar rings are just the beginning. We also coordinate label printing, cellophane wrapping, tube packaging, and specialty packaging for gift sets, limited editions, and event cigars. Everything that touches your customer's hands should look and feel like it belongs to a premium brand.

Anti-Counterfeit & Security — For brands concerned about forgeries, we work with our printing partners to integrate security features including holograms, micro-printing, UV-reactive inks, and unique embossing patterns that are extremely difficult to replicate.

Mock-ups & Prototyping — Before you commit to a full production run, we produce physical mock-ups so you can see and touch your band design on an actual cigar. This step eliminates surprises and ensures the final product is exactly what you envisioned.

Who Is This For?

Private Label Clients — If you're building a new cigar brand through Cigar Prof, your ring and packaging design is a core part of the process. We coordinate band and box production alongside your cigar manufacturing so everything arrives at the factory ready for assembly.

Existing Brands Seeking a Refresh — If your current cigar bands look dated or don't reflect the quality of your product, we can redesign and produce new rings through our printing partners. A brand refresh at the band level is one of the most cost-effective ways to reposition a cigar line.

Cigar Lounges & Retailers — A house band on your private label cigars sets you apart from every other lounge and shop. We design and produce bands that carry your lounge's identity, turning your house blend into a branded product that members and customers associate exclusively with you.

Event & Occasion Orders — Custom-banded cigars for weddings, corporate events, charity auctions, and VIP gifting. We produce event bands in smaller quantities with fast turnaround, designed to match the occasion.

Manufacturers Needing a Printing Partner — If you already manufacture cigars but need reliable, high-quality band and box production, we can connect you with the right partner and manage the coordination. This is particularly valuable for smaller manufacturers who don't have direct relationships with industry-leading printing houses.

The Process

Step 1 — Discovery & Brief We discuss your brand, your target market, the look and feel you want, and the technical requirements (band size, vitola, application method, box count). We determine which printing and packaging partner and techniques are the best fit.

Step 2 — Design Development Our team develops artwork concepts based on your brief. You receive digital proofs showing the band on a cigar mockup and box layout renderings. We refine until the design is exactly right.

Step 3 — Mock-up Production A physical sample band is produced so you can evaluate the quality, color accuracy, embossing, and foil effects in person. Box samples are also provided for approval. Adjustments are made before final sign-off.

Step 4 — Production Full production is scheduled at the appropriate facility. We oversee the run, manage quality control, and ensure delivery to your factory or specified location on time.

Step 5 — Delivery & Integration Finished bands, labels, and boxes are shipped to your cigar manufacturer for application during production. If you're working with DAVTIAN Premium Cigars through Cigar Prof, the coordination is seamless — everything arrives where it needs to be.

Printing Techniques Available

Through our partners, we offer the full spectrum of premium cigar band printing techniques:

Offset Printing — The industry standard for high-detail, high-volume cigar bands. Produces sharp, consistent color across large production runs.

Dust Bronzing — Metallic powder applied to create rich gold, silver, or copper effects. The hallmark technique of premium cigar bands that gives them their distinctive shimmer and depth.

Hot Foil Stamping — Metallic or holographic foil pressed onto the band using heat and pressure. Creates bold, reflective accents that catch light and communicate luxury.

Sculpture Embossing — Raised relief printing that adds tactile dimension to the band. Ranges from subtle texture to deeply sculpted effects that you can feel under your fingertips.

Lacquering — Gloss, matte, or spot lacquer finishes that protect the band and add visual contrast between elements.

Hologram Printing — Security and aesthetic holograms integrated directly into the band. Originally developed as an anti-counterfeit measure, now also used as a design feature by premium brands.

Die-Cutting — Custom-shaped bands cut to unique profiles. Allows for non-standard band shapes that differentiate your brand on the shelf.
